The details:
In July 2015, The World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified that one of the key ingredients in the commonly used herbicide Monsanto Roundup®, glyphosate, is a probable human carcinogen. The IARC specifically linked the exposure of Roundup® to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL).
The IARC came to their conclusion after analyzing years of peer-reviewed published studies that assessed the occupational exposure of farmers, forestry workers, municipal weed-control workers in the United States, Canada, Finland, United Kingdom and Sweden.
The IARC’s conclusion was significant because it confused that Monsanto’s Roundup®, the world’s highest-selling herbicide, is toxic to humans and those who are exposed to it run the risk of incurring some serious health issues. Monsanto, based in St. Louis, Missouri and incorporated in Delaware, is the world’s leading producer of glyphosate.
